In my experience, getting accurate patters fed to your TV through your video chain is the most complicated thing to getting an accurate calibration (especially through the Bluray player, which is why Ted's Lightspace Disk was so helpful).

HCFR offers less hand-holding than the commercial packages (and the reports are not as pretty ), but it is a very powerful tool for those who go to the trouble to learn how to use it (and the support you can get from the HCFR thread is amazing).
